Online Gallery

The National Burns Collection currently holds 2000 images of Burns related objects in its Online Gallery. Each image is accompanied by a detailed text record, giving background information on the object, including the institution where it is held.

To browse the online collection, key your search criteria into the Search Gallery box above. For example, you may want to try searching for Jean Armour, Agnes McLehose or Kirkoswald.

Your search results will be displayed as thumbnails. Click on the thumbnail you are interested in to view the large image and text record.

While searching, Search Options allows you to sort your search results by Relevance, Title (alphabetical) or Contributor (institution where object is held).

In addition, the Advanced and Fielded search options allow you to refine your search further.
